Math for 'Tards? CHECK
The math class is OVER - and you know what? I kicked major ass on the final, yes I did. I was a bit worried because I was having some problems concentrating enough to study, and the last couple of weeks have been very difficult - like, pulling out my hair, why the hell did I take this class difficult.
The final exam was computerized. It was supposed to start all easy like, and then get harder. When you screw up on one type of problem enough times, the test ends.
Well, I started in on a very hard problem. I spent 10 minutes on this baby, but I guess I got it right, because the problems kept on coming. And getting harder. Near the end, the problems were looking foreign - as in, they had Greek letters in them, and square rooty things. We didn't do foreign stuff in class, really. Just the big Sigma for sum. I got at least one of these right by reasoning, but there were at least four that I just guessed "b" on.
And the results printed out right away. The proctor gave me a big smile when approached her. I instinctively thought that I had done horribly on the exam. Out of 20 people, I was the third to the last in the room. So I asked her if she was laughing at me. However, it turns out that I jumped up TWO levels. I am out of the Math for 'Tards (Math for the Mentally Challenged for my PC friends) and can now take any class I want.
My teacher was very proud - of himself. Well. Call me Eliza Doolittle.
Now I have to decide which to take first - Stats or Pre-calc. It's going to be a long summer.

No job updates - but I should know about a recent interview for another position at the CompanyIWorkFor this week.
PS: Blogger spellcheck wants me to change "'Tards" to "Tarts". I supose that works just as well?

stats or pre-calc. Sounds like punishment rather than reward for your success.
Congrats, smarty-pants! I knew you weren't no detrpczk!
Heehee, from an F+ to an Ace. You go!
For you, math for tarts would be completely appropriate, dear.
Woo hoo!
And pre-calc, definitely. Stats always sounds like it's fun and useful, but it's the most painful thing. Pre-calc is your last foray into math with meaning -- where you actually get an answer to a question, rather than the answer to every equation is another equation.
