While you were sleeping...

This morning, while half the workforce sleeps, I was on the nearly empty Brown Line, on my way to work. See, I work for a bank, and a bank that isn't open on Saturday. Since Banks can't be closed for more than two days in a row, here I am. At my desk. "Working".

I enjoyed that the commute took me 1/2 the time it usually does. I enjoyed the early empty trains and the quiet... ah the quiet!

But hell froze over when I got into the building. My life's blood, my addiction, and the reason I can do anything before nine, Starbucks IS CLOSED. I had to settle for Duncan Donuts coffee today. When they let you do your own milk and sugar it isn't so bad though... and it is doing the trick. Thank goodness for them. Really.

TheBankIWorkFor is in a high-rise complex of three buildings. The security guard in my building told me today that aside from the 2-3 concession services (Duncan Donuts, a sandwich shop, and the newspaper guy), we were the only company open. In the building next to us, the TV station was the only one open.

At lunch, I have plans with some colleagues to check out the Cristkindlmarkt. And you know what? We might even stay LONGER than an hour! Wooo!

Come on now, we have to extract our little measures of pleasure where we can find them.

I didn't have to work today! So I stayed at home and - worked. Painted those little bits and bobs I was talking about in my house, cleaned, grocery shopped, and pulled the dead plants out of their pots. I'm so domesticated. I say that so someday you'll marry me.

Bet

I could use a domesticated woman in my house. Let me know when it's legal, and we'll get hitched!

I also went to work today, in similarly quick fashion. Thankfully, our Starbucks was open. You should complain on Monday, and ask for a free coffee -- I bet they give you one. There was no reason why that store should have been closed because it technically was a workday and not a federal holiday. I'm not that fond of Dunkin Donuts coffee, although my dad really likes it.

What the F is Cristkindmarkt? The name reminds me a lot of a certain German group, you may have heard of them, who had big plans for a master race or something. Anyway, I think I personally would steer clear of anything with crist and too many k's in it. Just a simple rule I follow. Seems to be working for me.
