Well - for all the begging I do for comments, it seems that Fred the Blog will be commentless for a little while. The folks at SquawkBox seem to think that I should be paying for the use of their service, that until now, I had been receiving for free. As Josh so kindly pointed out to me, when one tries to leave me a comment, one is greeted with:

"This commenting account (SBX-GZBSZTJPM) has expired.

This means that the account owner has not renewed or upgraded their
account. SquawkBox Basic/free accounts must be upgraded if they are
heavily used over a prolonged period of time. "

They want 14 Euros for this fun. Now, that isn't a whole lot of money, really. But I refuse to pay them for two reasons. 1. I don't think I get enough comments to justify spending $20 on comments. 2. They just cut off my service without so much as a warning. That's rude. I don't like dealing with rude people.

So I'm scoping out other commenting possibilities. In the meantime, if you want to leave me a comment, which you probably don't, please leave it in my guestbook.
