Google MEME

I have the urge to blog, but nothing really to say. It has been a slothy type day so far. I watched a pretty crappy movie and I've been doing laundry non-stop for hours. I also finally applied to one of those amazing sounding opportunities that I found on craigslist, of all places. All the while, I've been listening to Elvis Costello's latest CD The River in Reverse. This is a yummy CD, if you are so inclined.

But none of this makes for thrilling blogging. I'd write about the night out with Alexis and co from Friday, but um.. it's a bit.. fuzzy.

Stennie has this meme on her website that I've been thinking of doing for a while - and maybe now is as good a time to do the:

Google Image Search Meme

According to Stenns, you've got to google the following terms, using the picture you like best from the first page of the search results on Google Image. Then you mention your search terms and the URL of the page it came from.

I had some problems with the completion of this blog, but I didn't let that stop me from my mission.

1. The city and state (or province) of the town you grew up, no quotation marks.

This would be "Long Island, NY." Actually, it should be "Bohemia, NY," but that doesn't turn up much of anything. Bohemia was the size of my thumbnail when I was born, and apparently, nothing much has changed since. URL: http://www.oceancountyaerialpictures.com/LI8.jpg

I like this picture because Jones Beach is basically where I spent the first six years of my life. It is good to see it again!

2. The town where you currently reside.

"Chicago, IL"

I bet you've never seen this side of the Windy City, now have you? This image seriously came up on my search - this and several pictures of the skyline. You've all seen the skyline before. URL: www.dubtastic.com/tutorials/blending/teeth.jpg

3. Your name, first and last, but again, no quotes.

Here's where the problem with this meme begin. This search yields absolutely nothing. Perhaps that's a good thing!

4. Your grandfather's name.

Your search did not match any documents.

Suggestions:
  • Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
  • Try different keywords.
  • Try more general keywords.
  • Try fewer keywords.
Yeah, fine. We've got an unusual name. Moving right along...

5. Your favorite food.

I chose "broccoli." I know it isn't a particularly romantic favorite food choice, but I eat an awfully large amount of this stuff. Therefore, it must be one of my favorite foods, non?

6. Your favorite drink.

This is from a search on "Bulgarian red wine." It's superior to the French reds, people. URL: www.winegirl.ch

7. Your favorite smell.

Rain! So fresh, so earthy: It is the best smell out there. And this is a damned cool picture from this URL: http://members.aol.com/shortfict/seattle-215x300-rain.jpg

There will be another blog later in the week, hopefully. The lovely Bitterspice should be assigning me a letter any day now for the 10 Words MEME.

I am so doing this once I get done plowing through a week's worth of missed emails.

Luckily I am a pee-on, so most of the massively urgent stuff should be taken care of.

I almost used that same picture of the rain with the space needle in the background - rain is one of my very favorite smells too. Which is a good thing, considering where I live.
