Talk about running on a low-wattage bulb.

I was coordinating an online seminar today. The way we run these
"webinars" is to use Microsoft Meeting for the visual part of the
presentation. The audio portion is done via conference call. Today, as
always, five minutes before the start of the presentation, I got calls
from people who are freaked out by the prospect of using a computer.
The questions usually fall into two categories: 1. People who don't know
how to type in a URL 2. People who can't read, and therefore can't
follow the written instructions I provided them for getting into the
meeting.

Today though, I had a very special lady who had problems using her
telephone. She called me up and start asking some rather odd questions.
She wanted to know how she dialed the number while being at the URL at
the same time. I'll spare you the details of her questioning, mostly
because I'd like to put them out of MY mind. Here is the boiled down
version of what she wanted. She needed "technical help" in plugging her
TELEPHONE into her computer so that she could dial into the meeting.

Now this is a customer of mine, so I have to be civil with her,
regardless of her IQ. Imagine taking a call like this and answering it
with a straight face.
