Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream.....

Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream...

Disclaimer: I swear that I watched absolutely NO TV before going to bed last night, and I almost NEVER watch COPS.

The dream is short - It is night. The setting is in suburbia somewhere, but not somewhere I recognize as actually having been.

I am crossing a four-way highway when the crosswalk lamp begins to blink red. I stop on the median and decide to wait out the traffic. This bothers me though, because I'm in a big hurry to get somewhere. There is also someone else waiting on the median, waiting for the light to change. The traffic starts to slow down, and the woman standing next to me steps down onto the street. At this point, I'm thinking I can make a run for it. I'm in a hurry so I dash across the street and into a house - the one I live in for the dream, anyhow. It is a townhouse version of an English Tudor.

Once inside, I dash around looking for something, I grab it and then dash out the back door. Here, I am immediately ambushed. Before I have a chance to scream or fight back, a woman has her knee in my back shouting "POLICE". I am absoultely confused by this. I tell her she has got the wrong person, and I start to struggle. She assures me that I'm her "perp" and starts to talk to another officer somewhere.

I manage to convince her that I'm not going to be violent or run away - but I do want to know what is going on. She says, "Well, we saw your escapades over there at the crosswalk. Do you think stupid actions like that go unpunnished?" I am amazed -- after all, we're talking about jaywalking here. This hardly deserves a gun to the head. I start to laugh.

"This is a very serious matter", she assures me. She starts doing some kind of paper work, and we begin to chat, as if we were friends. I say to her, "You know, I realize that what I did was dangerous, ut I was in a big hurry to cross the street, and no other cars were coming. There was another woman standing on the street, and she stepped down off the median before the light changed, and it made me think it was ok for me to cross the street."

The police officer laughed, "That was no woman, that was my partner who was there as a decoy for you." Indeed, I see the woman from the median, and she pulls off her wig to reveal that she is actually a man.

At this point, I wake up.

This dream is going to bother me all day. Where do I get these things? Does anybody recognize this plot from anything? Anyone want to analyze this?
