What we have here, is a failure to communicate.

Yeah, so I've gone nearly a month without blogging. I've had a lot of fun making comments on other people's blogs, but some how, staring at the blank screen of blogger.com just hasn't inspired me. I have nothing to say.

Which is odd, because I've been busy. I painted my office/spare bedroom, for example. I was a painting virgin, and sure, you can tell by looking at the room that I have no practical knowledge about house painting. But I did it. The room is yellow. Yellow with drip marks, inconsistencies and brush marks, but yellow nonetheless. It was a LOT of hard work, painting this little room - a lot more work than I ever expected. It just looks so easy.

Pottery looked easy too. I started a beginner class in pottery seven weeks ago. The first day the instructor sat down at a wheel and 12 lbs of clay and made a beautiful, ornate vase while talking to us. In the first 1/2 hour he made about 5 different things. It looked easy enough. It took me all of the first session to learn to get the clay centered enough on the wheel. Actually, the topic of my first two classes is covered in a yet-to-be-published blog entry that is in draftland. The gist of the entry will make those of you who know me shake your heads and laugh. I am a klutz. Klutzes do funny things, if you are into slapstick.

There have also been some adventures in theater, but no new movie updates.

I applied for a promotion at my place of employment, and although the interview went swimmingly, I doubt very seriously that I have gotten the job. Hmm.. This could also be a blog in itself. I'm just not sure that I should be blogging about such things. People have known to be fired over such things.

I am also sick to death of my computer. There isn't anything wrong with the lovely Dell ® laptop, I am just tired of spending my life sitting in front of a computer monitor. This winter, there actually were days where I came to work, spent 8 hours in front of a Compaq, only to return home to spend another 4 in front of the Dell. That is really depressing and hard on the eyes.

This weekend is going to be another busy one, and I'm glad. Pottery on Saturday, putting the painted office/spare bedroom back together, and Sunday brunch followed by an Iron Chef party. At some point, 6 load of laundry will be done, and the #squeezers will have been chatted with.

Insert witty and ironic ending here.
