Today was the second, and thank goodness, final day of the Air and Water Show here in Chicago. I don't understand how a city that is as broke as ours claims to be, can afford to borrow the Air Force for two days. Come to think of it, isn't the US fighting at least two wars at the moment? Who knew we had enough military staff to do that, and have this show?

On the way to the show, or as part of it, two ENORMOUS planes - my neighbor said they were Blue Angels, flew through our neighborhood. We've had lots going on overhead this weekend, but these particular planes flew so low to the ground that they 1. shook my building and knocked over some of my books; and 2. set off many, many car alarms on the block. Pretty rude, eh?
