PromoGuy's Monday Mission 3.05

1. Do you remember the first LP, 45, CD or CD single that you bought? Recreate the scene for me.

With my own money? Yes, I do remember that. I bought Paul McCartney's Tug of War. I purchased it with babysitting money. I even took myself to the K-Mart on my very own bike on a hot summer day, and I was soooo proud of myself. I rode home with the record under my left arm, and when I got home, I ran upstairs and memorized the lyrics and the liner notes. I think the family was sick of the album after about a week.

2. What was the last CD or song that you actually paid money for?

The expanded CD version of Elvis Costello's Blood and Chocolate.

3. It is my personal opinion that "Munchos" and "Funions" are the most perfect snack food ever. What do you think is the best snack food ever?

Doritos, original flavor. Lays honey mustard pretzels. Very good salsa and fresh tortilla chips.

4. Comedian George Carlin once pointed we consider the things we like to keep around us to be our "stuff," whereas other people's stuff is just junk to us (ok, he used more colorful language, but you get the idea). What "stuff" do you have that someone else might just throw away if they were cleaning out your house?

Probably my boxes of papers from college and grad school. I can't bear to throw away my own research. Also, my teaching materials - those would probably get chucked too. I haven't taught German in 8 years. Who needs the stuff? But who can throw it away?

5. Do you think it is wrong for people to rush to e-Bay and start selling Space Shuttle Columbia collectibles?

I don't know if it is wrong. It is gross and greedy, but wrong?

6. Does it bother you when President Bush speaks about God and invokes scripture quotations from the Bible during his speeches?

Yeah, now this is wrong. He is supposed to be the president of the people of the US of A. I don't feel represented by him, even before he starts quoting from the New Testament. But when I hear this out of his smirky little lips, it makes me sick. We don't serve the same god. We are supposed to have separation of church and state around here, and I really see that eroding all over the place.

7. I have a friend who think's she's being photographed in public restrooms. What paranoid delusion do you have?

I don't have any to speak of right now... maybe I have some, but I can't think of any.
