I feel like I should be posting something profound after today's events, but the truth be told, this is all just beyond me. I know it was an accident, but somehow, all I can think about is the fact that these 7 people didn't have to die.

Kudos to Drinky. He did a good job with his speech today. He was believable, he didn't stutter or make up words, and he seemed genuinely emotional. His public speaking skills are improving. But honestly, what is with all the Bible citations and references to his god? I speak not only of today's speech, but every speech in the past few months - particularly the State of the Union address.

Other stuff that went on today-

- The Wall of Sound lost its home. Pier One came to pick up their defective console unit, and I now have a gift card I suspect I will have difficulty using. I went to a few little furniture stores around the area and found absolutely nothing under $900. Yeah, right. I may have to visit the Pottery Barn.

- Housing Search Update: I did my taxes and collected all the materials I need to get pre-approved for a mortgage. The only thing I am missing are statements for my checking account. I don't keep them because I get my transaction reports online. I sent an email to the mortgage guy to find out if I could just print off the info from my bank's website. Answer pending, I'll have a figure by the end of the week. With this figure, real estate agents will take me a little more seriously and actually return my calls.

I'm off to plug the Wall of Sound back in - soooo many wires to reconnect!
