San Miguel - Day Five
My last full day in San Miguel, I walked up to the Mirador - the highest part in the city. I was expecting an arduous hike, but in reality, I only walked for about 1/2 an hour up cobblestone that really wasn't all that steep. Here's what I saw when I got up there:
It turns out that the Mirador isn't the highest point in San Miguel after all. It is just a great place to view the city. After taking in the view, I saw that I could continue going up the hill. On my way up, I met this little lady:
She was such a sweet little girl. She followed me up the hill, allowing me to pet her head. She stuck very close, but seemed to be shy of the camera.
The pretty doggie and I walked together for a solid 15 minutes until she was distracted by some very nasty roadkill. When she started munching on the dead whatever, I decided we needed to part ways.
When I got to the end of the street, I came upon this, which is the courtyard of some kind of monastery or chapel.
This is on the outside of someone's house. The address is on the top, the picture is of the God of Corn.
Now this one cracked me up. It is obviously the home of German speakers. It is a play on Neuschwanstein, in Bavaria. Between 1869 and 1886 by King Ludwig II, it was his first such undertaking. It was meant to look like a fairy castle.
What these folks have done is to change a few letters around to change the name of their home from "New Swan - stein" to "New Pig -stein." And then of course they have the little picture of the pig, which is also the symbol of luck in Germany.
Moving right along...
This below is the street I walked on:
And that, oh five readers, was my trip to San Miguel. It's been fun having a blog topic that spanned for over a week, and I hope you've enjoyed the photos.
Time to go on another vacation!

I can't believe you didn't get a picture of the doggie eating the road kill! But then, I'm gruesome by nature.
Yes, go on another vacation. I like travel photos of interesting things.
I have a blog that sells homeowner loans for ceiling fan and nintendo purchases! Come check it out!
