About the Boy - Update II
I can't figure him out. I just can't. Maybe Lily's right - he could just be a fraidy cat.
Today, out of the blue, he comes over, starts to chat, only looking a way a few times. He brought up our plans for December, and we set a date of either next Monday or Tuesday, at luch or after work. Then he tells me he invited this older guy we work with. Ok, so he likes having a chaperon around... or maybe this is his way to keep this on a 'just friends' level.
Anyhow, there was few more minutes of vapid chit-chat and 'catching up', and then he was gone.
I was too confused to be filled with glee. I think the "like-likety" thrill is gone.

Hmm, still some fraidy cat stuff going on, but the addition of the other person is an odd sign. But I'd still do it, because I'm still getting more fraidy vibes than jackass vibes. And with someone else there you don't have to worry about having to take it to another level in a hurry, unless you're both raging exhibitionists.
But what do I know -- I'm going through something similar at work myself. Dude IMs me about three times a day, always wanting to go get coffee. But nothing is ever said about doing anything else, and due to other circumstances, I can't bring it up until he does. All of the signs point to he "like-likes" me (consults with a trusted office-mate concur), but nothing ever said.
Where the hell is high school when you need it? You could get your best friend to talk to his best friend and get everything sorted out that way. Or elementary school and spitballs.
