Thank you to everyone who remembered my birthday today. This year, I wouldn't have blamed you if you'd forgotten - because, hell, I forgot about it myself. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not completely senile yet. I know that my birthday is June 22nd. However, it didn't click in my head that my birthday was this week, until I was talking to the mother of my goddaughter about that child's birthday party. She was rushing around all crazy trying to get things ready for the party. I asked her what the rush was, since the godchild's birthday is the day after mine (she missed sharing a birthday with me by a matter of minutes), and then argued with my friend about the fact that June 23rd was indeed right around the corner.
