I am still infuriated with the devil company. Those bastards still have not managed to fix the problems on my line and I have now called them every single day for three weeks. Whoever said "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" wasn't completely correct. Pardon me if I seem extra angry, but I type this as I am waiting on hold for the "next available representative".

If I could get DSL or a cable modem for $25 or so a week, I'd drop this landline business right away.

Just a few remarks today- random ones.

1. I have had the "Pearl Girl" commercial running through my head for two days now. No amount of listening to other music has managed to displace this song. For this I blame Bet. I never would have paid so much attention to this song if she hadn't liked it so much.

2. Customer service people can also be quite wonderful. I bought a desk on Friday, and they guy selling it to me was so outwardly pleased, I thought he was going to take off and fly. He beamed from ear to ear, offered to sell me other stuff at a discount - I don't know if that is a store policy or not: buy a high ticket item and be offered everything else in the store at a discount. I also think he really wanted to hug me. He kept squeezing my right shoulder, and dashing around the store trying to make sure that I had everything I needed at all times, including breath mints.

3. I think it is a bad sign when people you don't know offer you breath mints.

4. My spell checker things that "breath mints" should be spelled "breathe mints". I guess it depends on which side of the stench you are on?

5. Cardboard boxes, when in abundance in a room with closed windows, for an extended amount of time, smells like an overly-ripe cat box.

6. Elvis was sad, but funny!
