This is complete bullshit.
How convenient, that just now, just as Drinky and his Colin are getting their final preparations met to go to war, they take a look around them and notice that a large majority of the citizens of the US, and 97% of the rest of the countries in the world are completely baffled as to why the target is Hussein, when it should really be Bin Laden.
To fix this little "problem" I believe the US or one of its allies fabricated this new tape they are attributing to Bin Laden. Why? Because it is too convenient.
How did Powell get a translated transcript before anyone else in the world? Al Jazeera didn't even know about this tape until several hours after Powell talked about it publicly The message on this tape is too convenient. It says exactly what Bush needs it to say: that he hates the US, that he is allied with Iraq, and urges Moslems to do us harm.
This is just insanity and it needs to stop. But other than going to protests and writing letters, what else can I do? Standing outside with my hands on my ears shouting STOP THIS BULLSHIT RIGHT NOW isn't going to doanything. Hell, around here it won't even get me arrested.
Go Germany!
I know most of you don't read German, but this link is to a very reputable German news source. It cites Tom Lantos (Senate Minority Leader) as saying to Germany, France and Belgium, "Without us, you'dd have been part of the Soviet Union!"
First off, half of Germany WAS a Soviet Satellite. Guess we didn't "do right" by the other half. Remember the Berlin Wall?
The US is NOT responsible for the fall of the Soviet Union.
Ronald Reagan had NOTHING to do with it. Communism died there because it was lead by the corrupt.
Isn't the US supposed to support freedom of speech? Aren't other nations supposed to make up their OWN minds about what is appropriate for THEIR people?
I could rant about today's political events all day. My nickers are all in a twist and I am seething. Sorry Bank, I just can't concentrate on you this morning.
