Housebuying Update

Steve called today! He called me at 9 am this morning, at work, as promised. Faith returns. I am officially pre-approved for a mortgage. I have a numbah!

Steve gave me some good advice about what to do with this number:

He told me not to advertise what the number is when I am in the "just looking" phase. The realitors will ask, but I should just say I have a number, and I am looking within my means. If the realitor wants proof, Steve will send them a letter telling the realitor that he is my mortgage broker, and that I am indeed vouched for.

Naturally, I shouldn't look for places at the top of my range, and he'll help me with the inspector when it comes time to go to contract.

So now I have to get my butt in gear and call more realitors. I'll be away this weekend, but perhaps I can find someone to show me stuff during the week.
