Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the Monday Mission, brought to you by The Promo Guy
1. Have you ever bought something you were so excited about and found out later that it didn't work? Were you able to return it? How did it go?
Yes. I bought the Buttoneer® from Ronco a few years back, only to find that it didn't sew buttons on neatly as it advertised. Instead, it inserted a large plastic thread between the eyes of the button, and kind of closed.. but not really. I bought it at Walgreens, and they wouldn't let me return it because it was open.
Also, once when I was about 9, I begged my mother for these toy Phasers they were selling - you know, from Star Trek? They worked as they were supposed to I guess, they squirted water. I was kind of hoping they would stun my brother though, like Spock and they boys did with them on TV.
2. I have a Palm (Pilot) for my date book and such, but have been thinking of jumping to the PocketPC world at some point. Do you have a PDA (personal digital assistant)? What kind, and how did you decide? What do you like about it? If you don't own one, do you want one or do you do better without such gadgets?
Ooh boy! Just what I need. Yet another reason to sit in front of a computer. No - I don't, and I don't want one. I don't see why they are necessary.
3. What illness do you wind up catching more than any other?
Sinus infections. At least one a year.
4. Do you like going to see the Doctor (any type)?
Hell NO!
5. How about the Dentist? Do you like going? Do you go in every 6 months for a check-up?
I pretty much hate the dentist too. Mine is at least a nice guy. I do go every 6 months though. I don't want my teeth to fall out.
6. Are you a "Dog Person" or a "Cat Person?" Do you think a person's choice tells you something about their personality?
I am a dog person for sure. This may have something to do with the fact that I am deathly allergic to cats. I don't think a person's choice says much about their personality, except that they are animal lovers.
7. I've mentioned before how me and a buddy of mine have just let our friendship lapse. There was no disagreement, but we've hit that point where we have nothing in common anymore. My life has progressed and he is still living in 1992. Have you ever had a friendship that just seems to have run its course? Where there is just nothing there anymore? What finally happened?
Welcome to adulthood sweetie. This is part of life. Many, many have gone that route in my time, probably because I've moved around so much. Some relationships die a slow death, some have turned into fond acquaintences.. I dunno. It is different in every case. It is sad when it happens, in the way that you get sad when nice, comfortable things come to an end.
I think once I realized that nothing is forever, I have been better able to deal with this. I mean, things happen for a span of time, and they are good for the moment. It is better to appreciate friendships in the here and now and enjoy them while you can.
