PromoGuy's Monday Mission 2.47
This week's Monday Mission is in two parts. Part one is about.. the Monday Mission!
Next week the Monday Mission will turn One! To mark the occasion, I wanted to give you the chance to post your MM thoughts here. Maybe tell us how you learned about the MM?
I learned about the MM from Stennie over at stennieville.com, who also got me started with web logging
Link to your very first MM. I don't know when my first MM was or how to link to it using free Blogger.
What you like about it, what keeps ya comin' back? Whatever you want to say, this is the place. Next week these posts will be linked to the MM to help
celebrate.
What I like about it most is that it gives me something to blog about. I am not a very creative type, so it is hard for me to come up with anything original. Sometimes the topics are interesting, and I enjoy reading how my friends respond to the same questions. Indeed, the MM can be a great vehicle to get to know people better.
Part II
1. Have you ever made a wish that came true?
Yes. Many wishes are at one's own command. My favorite one is my entire 25th year - what a dream come true. I got to sing on stage with one of the finest voices around, which was one of those dreams I never thought I'd realize. The next dream I'm working on is home ownership.
2. How about any wishes that you are happy never came true?
Hell no.
3. Do you like who you are? Are you the person you hoped you would become?
I'm currently under construction. I don't know that I had a vision of who I'd like to be when I was growing up, so I can't say I'm disappointed, but I am not entirely pleased with the current state of things.
4. I recently found some job applications that I never turned in. Back in 1986 I intended to apply at "County Seat" and "Chess King" but got an offer from Penny's (where I worked all through college). It was a good thing, since only one of the three is still around. Have you ever applied for positions, or had any interviews, where you later are glad you never got the job?
No, not yet anyhow.
5. While on the topic of career opportunities, what was your very first "real" job? What job was the most embarrassing?
My first real job was working for McCain Foods in the marketing department. I'm not embarrassed about any of my jobs, although perhaps I should be. I used to do those annoying marketing research calls while in high school. I realize that most people are really annoyed by the calls, but I had fun doing it. My friends were all working there too. My other jobs, before I was working at McCain were a hell of a lot of fun, (like at the drive in theater) and some were really worthwhile. (Like the home for developmentally disabled adults)
6. Speaking of news, have you had your 15 minutes of fame yet?
Such as being in the newspaper, on television, linked on a high-profile site or otherwise caught in the spotlight of the media? I guess I have, yeah. I'm gonna count singing on stage as my 15 minutes.
7. In the USA, many of us will celebrate Thanksgiving this week. Do you celebrate Thanksgiving (or something like it)? Do you enjoy getting together will your extended family for these types of celebrations?
Yes, I do the food frenzy when I can. This year I'll be at my brother's, visiting his family. I also mark my 15th year of being a vegetarian.
BONUS: Where is the tenderness? I'm sure you'll all find it in your stuffed, dead birds on Thursday.
