Hello Cruel World,
Fred the Blog is on slow motion updating since Sunday, and I apologize with every ounce of energy left in my withered soul. I'm tainted - under the weather, and coherent phrases just aren't my forté at the moment. I will, however, attempt the Monday Mission. Come ON! Better late than never, right?
PromoGuy's Monday Mission 2.46
1. When I was a teenager, I used to ride all the "spin-y" rides at the fair and fun parks. I'd never get dizzy or sick, and I could ride them all day. My favorite was the Tilt-A-Whirl. Now I should call it the "Tilt-A-Hurl" because it seems I can't even get on a Merry-Go-Round without feeling queasy. Is there anything you used to be able to do physically that you no longer can? What changed? I can't stay up all night and then expect to go to work and function the next day. I used to be very good at that. In fact, when I was younger, I really only needed 4-5 hours of sleep a night. Now, if I don't get that sleep, I flop all day like a fish stuck on the rocks during low tide.
2. On that same thought, there are probably several Bloggers you enjoy reading but have never met in real life. Which one Blogger would you most like to meet for dinner? Why did you pick that person? What would you talk about? What do you have in common? What would you do after dinner? The famous person: I almost always choose Christa Wolf, my favorite author. But after reading the Podview, I'm changing my answer to Thomas Jefferson. He is purported to be quite the party dude. Besides, I'd love to talk to him about the whole slavery issue and see where he really stood on that one.
Now, as for the Bloggers. that is a hard one. I read about 7 Blogs regularly, and I've never met a single one of their authors. But I kinda made plans with Bet, over at her blog, so I'll stick with those for now. Actually, I would like to meet all the #squeezers at once - even the non-Bloggers amongst them. We have lots of stuff in common - like music and TV, and when I was done talking, I could listen to them discuss the cinema all night. Maybe that's where Bet and I go to party down with Ben Franklin.
3.Money (or the lack thereof) is the number one cause of arguments amongst couples. Do you find this to be true? If there really was a "Money Tree" you could go and pick, would this really solve a couple's problems? Money has never been a problem in any of my prior relationships. I've never been married though, so maybe there is our difference. I suppose if money is the problem, in that both people are having to work insane hours to try to make ends meet, take care of kids and so, that there is no time to spend together, a money tree might help.
4. Speaking of arguments, have you ever been drawn into any nasty, hateful arguments? The kind where hurtful things were said that had nothing to do with the fight at hand? What was that all about? How did it turn out? Too much disclosure necessary to answer this question.
5. When was the last time you had to admit you were wrong about something? How did that go? I don't generally have a problem admitting when I've messed up. It is easier to do that and go about getting the problem fixed, than spending my energy passing the buck. I'm all for owning up to my actions. Today I had to admit to my Dr.'s office that I was indeed wrong about having paid one of my bills. It was no big deal though, I'll just cut them a check today.
6. Now for a slight change of theme....what song should never have been written? MacArthur Park
