This weeks Friday Five

1. What is your lineage? Where are your ancestors from?- My mother used to refer to us as "Heinz 57 Varieties" our family comes from everywhere, as many Eastern European Jews. My father's mother's people come from Chernowitz, which was Austria at the time, but now belongs to Romania. His father's people are Russian and Polish. My mother's mother's people are from Germany and her father's people are your basic pilgram stock, coming from England a bajillian years ago.

2. Of those countries, which would you most like to visit? I've been to Germany and Austria, so I would say next on the list is Russia.

3. Which would you least like to visit? None of the above.

4. Do you do anything during the year to celebrate or recognize your heritage? HAHAHAHAH, which one? No, my family isn't especially large or close-knit, and we don't really have an identity per se. We used to celebrate one or two of the Jewish holidays together with my grandparents and the great-uncles and aunts on my father's side, but that pretty much stopped 25 years or so ago.

5. Who were the first ancestors to move to your present country (parents, grandparents, etc)? Paternal Great Grandparents, Maternal Grandmother, Maternal Grandfather's family came over in the late 1600's or there abouts.
