It's The Friday Five!

1. Where were you born? Suffolk County Hospital, Long Island, NY

2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not?
I moved away from NY when I was 6 and have only been back to my original neighborhood four or five times since then - the last time being about 15 years ago. I've been to the City a lot more often, since many of my relatives lived there. When I finished undergrad, I made a very brief attempt to get a job in NYC, but I don't feel at home there, I just miss the knishes.

3. Where in the world do you feel the safest? I don't know. I don't feel particulary unsafe in Chicago... but if I felt safe anywhere? I guess I must, because I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it.

4. Do you feel you are well-traveled? Yes and no. I have certainly had my share of world travels, but I still feel I have a LOT to see. Like, I've never been to Asia or Australia, and I've only been to one country in all of South America (Brazil). But I recongnize that not everyone has had the chance to see as much of Europe as I have.(Portugal, Spain, France [but never Paris], the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and England.) I've been to 20 some-odd states here at home, (been to, not travelled through) and there is a lot for me to see around here. Then there is Canada, which I really need to see more of since I've only ever been to Niagara and Calgary. and Mexico - I don't count Mexico really, because an afternoon in Tijuana shouldn't count for anything.

5. Where is the most interesting place you've been? Probably the Netherlands. I've gone back there more times than I've returned to anywhere else, and each time I was utterly fascinated by the people, culture and language.
