Happy Birthday America!
What pleasant day it has been! I seriously don't remember the last time I did so much in a 24 hour period.
For starters, I spent most of the day by myself, and it was really very nice. Sometimes a good, quiet day is just the ticket. I was supposed to go down to Grant Park to hear the Old 97s and They Might Be Giants play at the Taste of Chicago, but my crew for the day ended up needing to change plans. Not wanting to go to this event alone, I opted to listen to it simulcast on the radio while I:
1. Read the entire Sunday paper, including the want ads
2. Hung the pictures up in the study that have been waiting to be hung now for several months.
3. Cleaned the study (it was mighty dusty)
4. Did two loads of laundry
5. Wrote part of an article for work
6. Cleaned the bathroom
7. Answered emails.
By then it was 4, I still wasn't dressed, and I was antsy - so I went for a bike ride. It was a fantastic evening for it. The streets were deserted and the weather was perfect. I stayed out for about 90 minutes. Then I came home, cleaned the kitchen, cooked dinner and started watching Office Space.
Then Dr. B called, and we decided to get some wine and head out to the beach and watch some fireworks. Somehow, after all that, I'm not even tired. Why is it then that a mere 7.5 hours in the office is so exhausting and I don't do nearly that much?
