Other Stuff
I spent this weekend in Virginia, not visiting Bet. I did however, get tingly all over when I thought about how I was in HER own state. What I did do this weekend was discover that there are members of my family who I can describe as "normal". I can't tell you what this has done for my psyche. I arrived in VA a bundle of nerves, made all tight by property buying, renter seeking, packing, work-woes - you name it. I left VA this weekend all relaxed and happy.
The reason for this trip was my Great Aunt, who will be celebrating the big eight-five on Wednesday. She lives with her daughter's family in a lovely house decorated with as many antiques as it can tastefully hold (emphasis on tasteful) on about 5 acres of land. They have two beautiful golden retrievers, chickens that lay pastel green eggs, and many acres of natural forest that has been purchased by the neighbors in the area to prevent over development.
In the wee hours of the evening, we discussed the genesis of a new porno website, Thejacksiergirls.com. You'll all be very excited by JJJ the 2nd, who, you will see, has very graciously offered to be the cover girl for the new site, Wait 'til you see how she wears her tassels!
My one real complaint about the weekend has nothing to do with my family, and everything to do with the state of Virginia's highway department. They seem to have issues with signage - there is absolutely no advance warning before you have to turn off or turn onto a particular byway. You'll be driving down the road, when quite suddenly, a teensy-tiny sign with an arrow will appear right on the turn you have to make. Not on the right side of the road for the turn? Not able to see things printed at 12pt type on the side of the road at night while driving? Then don't try driving in Virginia.
