In case you missed yesterday's blog, scroll down, read that first, then read on.

4. Portuguese. Both variations of this language are simply cool. It can sound a little like Polish at times with all the "shushing" going on, but it has just the right amount of nasal sounds to balance this off. It is not the easiest language to learn, because of all the different possibilities for verb conjugations and declension, but it is far easier to learn than say, Chinese.

My favorite words in this language are my favorite words because they are funny false cognates.

Cão, /kow/ means "dog".
Puxe, /push/ means "pull"
Cola, /kola/ means "glue"
Faca, /fakáh/ means " knife"

If you don't get why I like the last one, it is because it sounds so much like "fucker" said by a New Yorker.

Now Portuguese men? YUM! They tend to have that dark hair-blue -eyed combo that I like so much.
