HI! I just flew in from California, and boy are my arms tired! It was a busy weekend that ended poorly because of a SIX HOUR flight delay due to bad weather in Chicago. I had to forgo a trip to Starbucks with the beautiful Stennie to rush to the damned airport so that I could wait TWO hours in the terminal and then, get this, FOUR hours in the tarmac. That's right. They made us board the plane and SIT THERE, seatbelts fastened for four friggin' hours until we were cleared for the 3 1/2 hour flight. If it hadn't been for the iJOY, I don't know how I would have made it. I made it home in time to get three precious hours of sleep before dealing with a Monday morning at work. I made it through, but I will be going to bed very early tonight.

What's the iJoy you say? Well, I can guarantee you that either Stennie or I will be blogging about THAT little bit of beauty very soon. But for now, here's the Monday Mission 3.44!

1. This week the Episcopal Church USA installed the Rev. V. Gene Robinson was as a bishop of New Hampshire. This would probably not be news if Robinson were not an openly gay man. Critics are upset because their beliefs view bible to be condemning of homosexuality. Another point of view sees this as an opportunity for the church to reach a wider audience. What do you think of the church consecrating an openly gay person as Bishop? Should a person's sexual preferences be tied to religious beliefs? How do you think this should be handled? Should gay people in church leadership even be an issue? Quite frankly, I think the Episcopalians are just using the homosexuals to get themselves some media attention. I mean, seriously, who the hell are these people?

2. Have you ever supported an opposing viewpoint with someone just to "push their buttons?" Ever been in a situation where you really didn't care for one side or the other, but just found it fun to watch someone get all worked up in an argument? Ooh, yes, I've done this many times. I tend to do it most often to peple who annoy me, such as the people who stand outside my train station in the rain to ask me if I know Jesus. My favorite thing to them is to explain April Fool's Day to them... you know, if you do the math, that would have been around when that boy was conceived...

3. If you had to pick one, on which of the "Reality" shows do you think you do well? I haven't watched enough of these to know.

4. Have you, or anyone you know, ever tried any "alternative" healing practices or "all natural" medication? How did it work out? Yes. I have done this myself, and I know people who use natural methods to cure or prevent illness. Cranberry Juice and yogurt for example, are really wonderful things. While I don't rely on herbal infusions and food to cure everything (see my rants for the past several weeks), I do believe they have their place.

5. If you could write your own prescriptions, what is the first thing you would get? I don't think there is anything out there that I'd want that badly. Besides, even if you can write your own Rx, you still have to pay for them.

6. Are you getting a Flu shot this year? Do you ever get them? Have you ever had to endure a round of the full-blown Flu virus? I got a Flu shot last year and I'm not getting one last year. I just had a big-ass tetinus shot, and I can't get another shot for three more weeks. I've had the flu before, but it was a very long time ago. I think now that they have that spray that kills the virus when you get it, I'll just rely on that. I'm not anticipating getting any more diseases this cold and flu season.

7. On television commercials, when men get sick they are portrayed like big whiny babies. Based on your personal experience, do you think this is an accurate depiction? Yup - especially married men.

BONUS: GirIfriend, how could you let him treat you so bad? oh oh oh oh oh, girlfriend, you know you're the best he ever had.
