My mind is very cloudy today, so this blog will probably be kind of short and might not make a whole lot of sense. I also feel rushed, because Joe just left a message on the internet answering machine, and I feel like I have to return his call right away, since he knows I'm home. Joe knows about, but doesn't make it his business to read my blog by the way.
I was just reading the New York Times online, and I came upon this little op/ed you must read if you haven't, called The Treadmills of His Mind I love it that not everyone in this here country (the US of A) has gotten so apathetic, that they can't take a minute to point out that we have really gotten ourselves into deep doodoo by letting Drinky McDumbass ascend to the presidency. This article is so good, it made my eyes well up withn tears of joy.
This weekend wasn't very eventful. Friday night I was completely exhausted when I came home for work. I barely gathered up enough energy to push the buttons on the remote control for the TV. I watched some network news program about lookism, re-runs of Rosanne and Fraiser and then went to bed.
Saturday morning I woke up with absolutely no energy, but I decided I had to finally watch Monster's Ball, which I had to return by noon of the same day. It wasn't as long as I'd expected, and not as good either. I mean, it didn't suck, but I really didn't need to see Billy Bob in his underwear, and I certainly didn't want to watch him give Halle Berry oral pleasure. He is too fatherly, sorry. Otherwise, I thought it was good. Not Best Screenplay good, but good.
Then I went online for #squeeze chat, and hung around long enough to catch Bet and Chrispi for a very short chat. Then Joe and I went to go see the photo exhibit I said I was going to see last weekend, went for a walk and did a little window shopping before he had to skedaddle for his date. Saturday night was the usual fare, except that the crowd was rather sparse. I need to see about getting myself one of those lives.
Today as I was out running the errands I'd put off yesterday, I blew yet another innertube on my bike. I think I have to replace the tire this time too. I think I got bamboosled by the bikeshop - they managed to convince me that the back tire was NOT fraying. If I gather any energy during the week, I'll bring ol' leaky over to the shop and see how much responsibility I can get them to take for the cost of replacing the tire. I'll settle for free labor so I don't have to change the innertube myself this time, but don't tell them that. I want a free tire!
Now I need to call Joe back and tell him if I want to go to Moody's for a beer. Problem is, I haven't made up my mind yet. Should I stay or should I go now?
