Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Over the years I've done my fair share of complaining about insomnia on this blog. Hell, I do it in person. I'm tired lots of the time and that makes me generally very cranky.
I'm often jealous of people who report sleeping until 11 on the weekends, or sleeping too long and having a headache. I don't understand how people don't wake up instantly at dawn. It's like being ostracized out of some super-exclusive club.
The month of December was particularly crappy in the sleeping department. I slept an average of three hours a night. I tried not drinking any alcohol at parties, I tried drinking wine at night. I went on long walks, I did yoga, but alas, there was just no sleep to be had.
But last night people - last night was different. I was out until 12:30, came home, took a shower, checked my email, and then went to bed. The next thing I remember, light was streaming in through the window. I figured it was dawn. I had a headache, was really thirsty, but generally felt kind of foggy. Then I looked at the clock and saw it was 10:58! I slept nearly TEN HOURS and have a headache from sleeping too much! I'm in the club!
I evidently woke up at some point during the night, because when I woke up this morning, the heat was off in the house. But I must have fallen right back asleep, because I don't remember doing it.
One giant cup of coffee later, I'm still pretty foggy. But I'm hoping this will clear up as the day goes on, and I'm hoping I can oversleep on Sunday too!

Well, in keeping with the grand tradition of being me, I'm in the club, though I feel bad about it.
All of my friends boast (yes, they boast) that no matter how they try, on the weekends, holidays, vacations, they all automatically still wake up at 6:30am. This makes me feel like a real slacker. Which of course, I am.
Welcome to OUR club, though, dishy.
I wish you much happy sleeping in the future as well!
Congrats on the sleeping! I usually wake up the first time on a day off or a weekend sometime before seven, just because I'm accustomed to it the rest of the time. But after many days off, I lose that. But it's not moral superiority, it's the just a natural body clock. And Betster, one can get up at 6 am and still be a real slacker. In fact, you get more practice at it.
I am very relieved to not have trouble sleeping that often. Pretending it's May can often help.
I usually wake up around 8 on weekends, even if I go to bed at 3 AM. But there are those blissful days where I manage to sleep in until 10 or 11. Problem is, on those days I not only have a headache, but I'm also sleepy all day long. I'd rather wake up at 8 and take a nap in the afternoon.
